CHRIST YOUR LIFE

CROSS ROAD TO LIFE

I found this in The Age recently – in an interview on a column on food. “When was the last time you changed your mind? I change my mind every day. I say “sorry” multiple times. I get proven wrong a lot and I’m quick to admit it. I might have been doing something the same way all my life, thinking it’s the best way. Then someone will come along and say, “Try it this way.” And, oh god, it’s life-changing.”

CROSS -CHANGE

The ultimate change of life for us occurred when Jesus died on Friday and rose from the dead on Sunday. In Christ all the nefarious kinds of death that Adam precipitated were put to death. When Jesus rose on Sunday morning all the life that is His, Father’s and Holy Spirit became ours.

AGREE WITH LIFE

This life becomes ours when we agree with Christ that He is our life. To do this for many Christians means a change of life. It means living oneness with Christ rather than living oneness with religion in order to gain Christ.

We can if our worldview is rubbish live by rationalising weak and degrading ideas. We can live reduced lives because we have a reduced gospel whose essence is the negation of our inheritance in Christ and replaced it with a gospel of legalism that retains us in the knowledge of good and evil on the wrong side of the cross.

WE CAN SAY WE WERE WRONG

Then again we can come to the cross repenting of our wrong-headedness and try the living way that is life-changing. This is our Easter life.
